Admission into Diploma Programmes
Diploma programmes of three years duration are being offered in Engineering and Technology both as Government Aided and Self-Supporting programmes as follows.

Admission Process
The polytechnic admits both boys and girls. Reservation will be made as per the norms prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu. Admission of students under All India Quota and Orthopedically Handicapped are being done under DOTE's special permission.

I Year (3 years duration) |
Passed 10th Standard / SSC Examination Obtained at least 35% marks in the qualifying examination. |

II Year (2 years duration) (Lateral Entry) |
2 years Passed 10+2 examination with Physics/ Mathematics / Chemistry/ Computer Science/Electronics/Information Technology/ Biology/Informatics Practices/ Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational subject/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies/Entrepreneurship (Any of the three). or 10th + (2 years ITI) with appropriate Trade in that order shall be eligible for admission to Second Year Diploma Course(s) of appropriate Programme. |
Higher Studies opening for Diploma holders
As per the AICTE Approval Process Hand Book 2021-22 Vide Page 117 Item (iii), the Diploma holders can join B.E. (Lateral Entry) in any discipline irrespective of branch studied in the Diploma programme
